Programs
New Life is comprised of three primary branches
Restoring Balance to the Body
Rebuilding the Foundation
Destination Training: Rehabilitative off-season or pre-season
Restoring Balance to the Body is a program focused on restoring the highest degree of symmetry, functional strength, and balance so a person can resume healthy normalized movement, making them safer, and with less pain, in their daily lives. The type of person on this pathway is often someone who has a history of multiple physical or mechanical set backs that have resulted in poor movement quality, and may also have become painful. These are the people typically locals, who I often see in their homes or living facility fitness centers, who want to improve their general functioning so they can enjoy a more fulfilling lifestyle. I work to “Restore Balance to Your Body.”
Destination Training is a program designed specifically for those athletes who are not local to the Tucson area. It follows the Rebuilding the Foundation format, but is applied in a condensed time frame, such that an athlete with the needs described above, can come to Tucson and receive the assessments and training. Depending on your needs, we can tailor your program into two, three, or four week periods. Each week will include physical assessment by a licensed physical therapist who holds multiple certifications from the best movement based organizations. PT will provide the manual techniques necessary to insure proper joint mobility, tissue length, and motor control learning guidance daily prior to your working with your trainer. Your trainer will work with you five days per week applying the exercises prescribed by the physical therapist as well as those strengthening, conditioning and motor control activities identified by the training team as most appropriate to your goals. The training staff has worked with collegiate champions and professional athletes, including Olympians, both locally and internationally. The team is knowledgeable, and encouraging. They are not shy about coaching you to your goals.
Tucson is a great get away destination for you to focus on your rehabilitation and rebuilding needs. It is quiet and without the distractions found in larger cities. Some of the best resorts and restaurants are right here, minutes from our facility. Tucson International Airport (TUC) is small, but served by most of the major air carriers. Its easy in and easy out.
Rebuilding the Foundation is a program focused on helping athletes regain their prior level of function and performance following injury, surgery, or general decline. Having incomplete rehabilitation often results in continued weakness, movement dysfunction, or pain, long after the original problem began. If this describes you, I want to see you. I work to get to the root cause of the problem so that it can be corrected. Very often these clients are experiencing a high degree of frustration having been unable to regain their previous level of performance. At times the decrease in performance is significant enough to limit participation in their sport , and in some cases can be career threatening. I, along with some select trainers, work to rebuild the original foundation which made you athletically successful in the first place. We get to the source and work you through it.
Athletes also seen via this program are those who feel their performance has reached a peak or who simply want to reach a higher level of performance. This includes our pre-collegiate, collegiate, and professional athletes. Many times even the most successful athletes have reached a point where, despite their training intensity and best efforts, there appear to be barriers keeping them from the next level. We are here for you.
