About the owner:
Hi everyone. I’m Craig McEwan, physical therapist and owner of New Life, Motor Control and Sports Performance located in beautiful Tucson, Arizona. I want to tell you about myself and New Life.
I’ve been a licensed practicing physical therapist for 33 years. My background and practice is founded in assessing and treating movement dysfunction. After years of practice, in a variety of settings, and with specialized training, I feel confident that I will be able to help you get to the root of your movement problem.
I will help you understand the foundational movements required to rebuild you towards higher level function. I have had success with improving difficult to assess movement dysfunctions in regular clients and patients who present with varying levels of debility stemming from orthopedic injury or surgery, or following stroke and neurological injury, to high end athletes who have developed poor movement patterns after injury or from overuse. Frustrated? Make Tucson your “Destination Rehabilitation”, allow New Life, MCSP and its associates to restore you to your optimal athletic condition. Star in your own comeback story.

About our location:
New Life, MCSP is located in beautiful Tucson, Arizona. Tucson is a fantastic Winter and Spring destination. Our weather is mild and sunny from November through May. This coincides perfectly with the off-season and preseason of most outdoor sports. Tucson boasts several top rated resorts which offer beautiful open space views, hiking and biking, golf, swimming, and spa amenities. We are in a Sonoran desert, but surrounded by mountains. Mount Lemmon (9171 ft. elevation) to the north is a quick 30 minute drive from valley floor to the town of Summerhaven at its base.
Tucson has the best selection of top end Mexican food restaurants in the country. A local spot, Tumerico (“It’s vegan!”), was voted on Yelp as the #1 breakfast restaurant in the United States. Tucson has several PGA quality golf courses, spread all across the valley. Our downtown offers unique shops and eateries, all within walking distance of easy to find parking. It is quiet here, without the distractions found in larger metropolitan north of us in Phoenix. If you are serious about your training and recovery, there is no better place across the cold months of the year than Tucson. Here you can focus on your success. You can bring along family, they’ll have plenty to do while you improve your physical, mechanical skills. Train in the morning, eat delicious and healthy food, golf and relax in the afternoon, go to bed in peace and quiet under a starry desert sky. Repeat. I, along with select trainers, will get you strong.
Travel in and out of Tucson is simple. Tucson International Airport is served by five major carriers with non-stop flights to the eight of the largest US hubs. For a professional athlete, a rehab stay in Tucson might be considered a business expense. The physical therapy and re-training of movement, and gaining performance strength, especially if reducing dysfunction and pain, could be considered essential for continuing professional level athletic performance.
